The PMP is a parallel 8-bit/16-bit input/output module
specifically designed to communicate with a wide

- Read/write strobe with enable strobe

- 4-byte deep auto-incrementing buffer
Programmable Wait states
Operate during CPU Sleep and Idle modes
Fast bit manipulation using CLR, SET and INV
registers
Freeze option for in-circuit debugging
peripherals, LCDs, external memory devices and
microcontrollers. Because the interface to parallel
peripherals varies significantly, the PMP module is
highly configurable.
Note:
On 64-pin devices, data pins PMD<15:8>
are not available.
